Outdoor kitchens & fireplaces

A backyard worth staying out in.

An outdoor kitchen is built like a small house, with a solid base, a sound frame and a stone face that sheds water.

We build outdoor kitchens with built-in grills, stone countertops and room to prep, serve and sit.

Beside it goes the fire: a masonry fireplace with a proper firebox and flue, or an open fire pit sized to the patio.

We add seat walls, steps and pavilions so the whole space hangs together.

All of it sits on a patio we build ourselves, so the base, the grade and the stone are planned as one job.

That matters for drainage, because rain should never pool under the grill or run toward the house.

Gas, water and power need a route, so we plan where they run before any stone goes up.

We use natural stone, manufactured stone, brick and block, with granite-style stone on the countertops.

Call (919) 625-3963 and we will walk the yard, talk through the layout, and write up a free estimate.

Around the Triangle

Outdoor living, built for the Triangle.

From spring through fall, a Triangle backyard is where the evening happens.

A fireplace or fire pit also pulls people outside on cool nights.

Summer storms and red clay make drainage the first question, so we grade the patio to shed water away from the house.

Pine roots and slopes shape the layout, and sometimes a low wall or terrace makes the flat ground the kitchen needs.

Where an HOA sets rules in newer subdivisions in Cary, Apex and Holly Springs, tell us and we build to them.

Older lots inside the Beltline are often tight, so we size the build to the space.

Questions

Outdoor Kitchens questions.

Something else on your mind? Call (919) 625-3963 and ask.

Can you build the patio and the kitchen together?

Yes. We build the patio, the kitchen, the fireplace and the seat walls as one job.

That keeps the levels, the drainage and the stone matched.

Which is better, a wood fire or a gas fire?

Both are common. Wood gives you the real crackle and needs a firebox and flue built for it.

Gas is easier to start and tidy.

What are the countertops made of?

We use granite-style and natural stone tops made for outdoor weather.

We show you samples so you can pick the color and the edge.

Can a kitchen sit on my existing patio?

Sometimes. We check that the slab is level, drains away from the house and can carry the weight.

If not, we build a new base for it.
